YOU are seriously funny
Hey Hilarious Friend,
Sometimes life is funny and other times, not so much. It’s easy to laugh when something comical happens, but how do you keep your sense of humor when you can’t see anything obviously funny about what’s going on? (Like when I bombed that presentation in front of 200 people.) 😉
What if you released all the judgments and conclusions you have in your life? If you looked at everything through an amusing perspective, free of limiting thoughts and behaviors, would your life improve?
It may be difficult in certain circumstances to initially see the positive or funny side of life. And-there are many benefits of keeping your sense of humor, even when it proves to be very challenging. (Side note- staying amused is different… how different are you willing to be Friend?)
Change your perspective, and shift your outlook. Shift your outlook, and alter the outcome. You can significantly increase the happiness in your life by simply adjusting the way you approach it. How about putting humor and amusement into the mix? Things that make you go, hmmmmm….
Nothing feels better than smiling and laughing. What if we choose to say “I’ll have more of that!”
And-how the heck can I do that?!
Look for the funny ~Rather than judge a situation as good or bad, right or wrong, sad or happy-we can broaden our perspective and curiously look at everything from an interesting and amusing outlook. This simple shift can completely change your current experience and your future reality. Enhance your possibilities by opening your mind to new amusing landscapes. Sweet! Whether or not a situation is ‘good’ or ‘bad’ is based entirely on your perception. If you believe it to be positive, you’re right. If you think it’s negative, then you’re also right! Practice focusing on the amusing elements of your reality and be open to way more JOY.
Give yourself the green light to laugh~ Tell your judgmental thoughts and actions to take a hike. It’s okay to laugh, even when the going is tough. Give yourself permission to lighten things up. If you’re ever concerned that it’s “wrong” or “hard” to keep your humor alive in challenging situations remind yourself you don’t have to keep that sadness alive any longer than it needs to be. Initially, it may feel strange to start living without the conditioned judgments and preconceived notions. Recognize it is more important to stop restricting yourself and make the decision to expand your opportunities. Discover a sense of awareness and observation. Eventually, it will become easier to drop the judging and join the limitless party of possibilities.
Here are examples of ways that modifying your perspective can change your life for the better. By exploring the following questions and suggestions, you can see how shifting your viewpoints invites way more joy and laughter.
• Reflect over your past and notice times of suckiness. What was happening for you on a personal, professional or spiritual level? Can you see the life lessons, growth and opportunities that emerged as interesting and amusing as opposed to challenging and difficult? C’mon, it’s kind of a funny story now isn’t it?!
• Look at areas of your life now (career, relationships, money, health, fun, creativity, etc.) and notice how your perspective changes each day depending on your mood, attitude, thoughts, etc. Can you shift your thoughts, beliefs and emotions into a space of amusement, curiosity and interest?
• Pick an area of your life that where you feel a sense of “stuckness” and choose to look at it from different angle. What if a team of comedy writers was looking at your list… what would they find amusing? What opportunities are hiding under the junk? Brainstorm a list of benefits or sheer ridiculousness to help you see the situation from an amused mindset.
• Remember the external world has less power over you than your thoughts, attitude and actions do. If you don’t like what you’ve appearing in your life, own your power to change your life in a new direction and start seeing your world from a place of joyful attitudes.
Simple?
Find out and give it a whirl!
You may find it a little challenging at first, in a nutty reality that is conditioned to judge things as “happy or sad” and “right and wrong.” But is it worth it if you created more freedom than you could ever imagine? Would that be fun? In the end, your perspective of life is what really matters so make it interesting and amusing! Let’s start the belly laughing!
Let’s laugh our reality is hilarious,
Maureen
