I wanted to cry…the garbage was everywhere!

Dearest Friend,

The newest shenanigan in my house is perpetrated by Ms. Cailin.

Her game: what’s inside the kitchen trash would be better served scattered throughout the house and/or in her belly. It’s a game that – I assure you- is only fun for one of us.

As you may know- I like to look for the amusement in occurrences, especially ones that may be classified as stressful or upsetting.

I know first-hand that stress can bring on some internal bedlam. In 2002, the medical team loaded me up with Vericet (“you won’t feel anything or remember this… It’s loopy juice”) and then pushed a scope down my throat to assess what was creating such extraordinary pain and my inability to eat. In light of this dis-ease, I made some declarations:

• Stress? Not worth it, I will let things go!
• Worrying about this _________ (new project, family issue, guy not calling me back…) isn’t really a big deal, time to let it go!
• I’m going to be much more gentle with myself
• I choose to now be much more conscious about what foods I eat
• I’m going to hike more, relax more, love more, laugh more…

12 years later, sometimes these declarations actually occur. Yeah me!

As I ponder the amusement of my TroubleMaking, garbage strewing, German Shepherd, I realize that even when we are grooving and in the zone and feel like we may mostly have it all together… old garbage may still show up.

Here’s the GOOD NEWS:
• It’s easy (ish) to clean up
• You can remove it permanently
• When it’s gone- it feels GREAT!

I KNOW this. I TEACH and COACH to this. And, I still get to remind myself and course correct occasionally.
