Ready to let go of limitation and live joyfully?

Day 19~ Desk & Filing Cabinets

I’m thinking of my desk like my car for moment.

Right now- would I be comfortable with a friend getting into my car to go on an adventure? My answer is yes.  It is tidy and in good shape.

Right now- would I be comfortable with a friend sitting at my desk to work. HELLS NO!!! I’m looking at the random stuff, the disorganization and thinking- uh uh- nope. Little piles of stuff, random things that don’t belong.  Time for a change!!

Some of you may be wondering- who has filing cabinets? Perhaps you thought those only existed on the set of Mad Men….

Well- I have two! TWO I say!

As you move into the office area de-clutter, be aware of the energy you want around you in the office. Are the items around you supporting your vision or muckling with your energy of limitless possibilities?!

Bonus points if you submit before and after pictures for us to join in on your de-clutter fun!!

In your office- you may come across lots of “old” paperwork, tax forms etc. What do you keep and what is safe to shred? I came across this decidedly unhelpful information that I though I would share with you 😉

IRS documentation requirements

The IRS recommends taxpayers keep their returns and any supporting documentation for three years after the date of filing; after that, the statute of limitations for an IRS audit expires.

If you’ve under-reported income by 25 percent, however, the IRS can go six years back, or seven if you claim a loss for bad debt or worthless securities.

If you don’t file, or if you file a fraudulent return, the IRS has no statute of limitations; so it may be best to keep your records indefinitely.
