Beauty badassery, Self Care & Self Lovin’
I posted this picture to my Facebook page a couple weeks ago. It was 7:33pm on a Friday night.
I find it infinitely amusing and laughed and laughed and even snort giggled once.
It was fun to see people’s reaction. I was praised for bravery and courage and I’m sure there were many “What the hells?!” in the mix as well.
Here’s the truth. My priorities have changed. A decade+ ago my Friday evening would have been finalizing the evening’s play plans. Perhaps I would pour a glass of wine, do a few last minute invites to some people to join us at the new restaurant or bar.
Now… things are different.
As you can see above- a Friday night has me in a delightful scrubby face mask. and I’m much more likely to be sipping Aveda Calming Tea than a Zima. I know that I’ll be up early for an 8am yoga class the next day… and I love it!
Believe me, I also LOVED the shenanigantics that I stirred up in the past with the nights on the town. And now the sweet, serene, joy of self care is much more appealing for me.
As I think about what I may have been doing on a Friday night when I was 5 or 15, 25, 35… it makes me grateful for all that has been. It makes me excited for all that is in this moment. And I wonder what adventures will be created in the years ahead?
Tell me… in what ways has your life changed for the positive?
What do you do to nurture and care for yourself?
Here’s to YOU living the life you love with or without your mask!
Hugs,
Maureen
PS- Just kidding about drinking Zima!
